5. Consuming Vegetable Oils Can Lead To Mental Disorders

Most vegetable oils contains the preservatives BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) and BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) which can stimulate behavioral issues linked with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Some vegetable oils also have a dangerous omega-6 to omega-3 ratio. These oils contain a significant amount more omega-6s compared to omega-3s and researchers say that is a disaster for mental health.

John Stein, a University of Oxford Emeritus Professor of Neuroscience, suggests that the displacement of omega-3 fats in the brain by omega-6s is having serious, unforeseen damage on our brains and is contributing to “the meteoric increase in mental health disorders and depression.”
