Migraine
In July 2003, researchers from Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Gemelli Hospital, Rome, Italy, concluded that a significant proportion of patients that consumed a wheat-free diet saw improvements or the disappearance of migraine headaches within six months. In the study, the 90 subjects were given a single photon emission CT brain scan before and after a gluten free diet. They showed a regional baseline reduction in brain tracer uptake in all the patients.
