Some Lentils Have PhytoEstrogens
Phytoestrogens in lentils bind to the same receptors that estrogen binds to, but phytoestrogens give a much weaker signal than estrogen. When weaker signals are sent, the body over-produces estrogen, which causes the hormonal system to be imbalanced. This can lead to several health conditions, such as bladder cancer, Alzheimers, asthma and disrupted reproduction and infertility.
