Corn Has Troubling Levels Of Phytic Acid
Most grains contain phytic acid, which can prevent the body from mineral abortions. However, the difference between ancient grains and modern grains like corn, is that the ancient ones have natural protection against phytic acid built in them. Many ancient grains contain an element called, phytase, which is naturally built in the plant to eliminate the phytic acid. More modern grains like, corn, millet, oats and brown rice do not contain sufficient phytase to eliminate all the phytic acid they contain, which is part of the reason why eating these grains can lead to a host of troubling health issues for people.
